  • Building Member Capacity Program (Mar-May 2018)

This project was funded by Hobsons Bay City Council, aimed to build members capacity and sense of place and belonging. Three workshops delivered during Mar-May 2018 achieved a number of positive outcomes:
    • Increased members understanding on what community engagement is; familiar with Council Community Engagement Framework; aware of, and participated in the future, the development of Council strategic planning.
    • Expanded knowledge of services around the city of Hobsons Bay, overcome barriers; and have the ability to engage with other community/centers confidently.
    • Enhanced relationships between members and recognize their experiences and credibility. Created further harmony environment which all participants and members feel equal power and responsibility.

The time members spent together during the three workshops helped form a common bond and nurtured a healthy relationship. This engagement has assisted the Executive members to develop and plan future activities for the organisation. This was also a first step of cultivating learning, understanding people, places and promotes a caring community.
